A Development Operations Engineer at MemberClicks plays a crucial role in delivering a robust set of mission management products to our customers. Responsibilities:

  • Live out the MemberClicks mission and core values in your day-to-day work.
  • Work closely with software development teams and other functional groups to engineer robust, flexible, and scalable application delivery platforms.
  • Enhance our monitoring solutions to help us gain better visibility into our application stack.
  • Enhance our continuous integration and testing infrastructure to enable quick and efficient delivery of technology solutions.
  • Enhance our incident response process and provide expertise during service interruptions.
  • Participate with other engineers in an on-call rotation.
  • Manage relationships with our hosting providers and other third-party vendors.
  • Assist team members in requirements and design discussions and decisions.

Desired Abilities:

  • Must have two or more years of experience building, delivering, operating, and troubleshooting complex distributed systems in a software development or operational role.
  • Must have experience deploying a wide variety of open source technologies on a public cloud service such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure.
  • Must have experience using Python or similar languages to automate system tasks.
  • Experience using configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or CloudFormation to build out new cloud infrastructure preferred.
  • Experience maintaining a configuration management solution within a source code control system like Git preferred.
  • Experience designing application and infrastructure monitoring solutions with modern tools like New Relic, Datadog, Sentry, and log aggregation frameworks such as ELK stack preferred.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes, or CoreOS preferred.
  • Experience with RHEL, CentOS, Amazon Linux, Windows Server, MySQL, MongoDB, or Microsoft SQL Server preferred. Experience with Kafka would be a plus.
  • Some familiarity working in an Agile process (Scrum, XP, or Pair Programming) preferred.
  • Must have a passion to deliver high quality solutions and a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Must be passionate, self-directed and a champion for technology within the company.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours to meet deadlines when required, but this is not the norm.
  • Must have exceptional organization and time management skills.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
