The Data Specialist is responsible for working with MemberClicks customers and the MemberClicks services team to convert data from customers’ prior data sources into the MemberClicks database.  This is a critical component to the successful delivery of MemberClicks services and is vital to the successful adoption of MemberClicks software by our customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Convert data from one or more customer data sources into the MemberClicks database in a way that meets customer business needs and timelines.

Create custom reports and update existing reports for customers using Crystal Reports

Provide data mapping to customers on custom databases to ensure accurate and usable conversions.

Work as part of a team comprised of both MemberClicks and customer personnel in order to keep implementation projects on time and within cost.

Work closely with other Data Specialists and Product Development to continually improve the conversion process with regard to efficiency and quality.

Write, document, and standardize new custom conversions.

Provide quotations for additional billable conversion or reporting work.

Own and maintain the shared codebase for the conversion application including the data validation tools.

Provide regular and consistent knowledge transfer and documentation to other team members on best practice for data conversion.

Necessary Skills

Excellent SQL Knowledge.

5 years experience in working with data transformation, data migration, data scripting, etc.

Robust experience with multiple data migration techniques:  ETL migration, hand-coded migrations, application-driven migrations.

Demonstrable experience in training and transferring their data migration skills/knowledge to someone with less experience.

Experience in building, improving business processes related to customer experience that yield a measurable outcome.  Juggling multiple priorities.

Driven by empathy for customers and ability to translate that into their written and verbal communication.

Deep knowledge of building custom reports from scratch through database queries (Crystal reports, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)).

Experience working within teams of peers and leading through influence.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Detail oriented and dedicated to quality work.

Significant data mapping experience.

Understanding of advanced financial accounting principles, including credits and debits, accrual versus cash basis, revenue recognition, accounts receivable, etc.

Ability to think critically and creatively to solve problems.
